Inflation for everyday items is nearing price rise rates similar to the discretionary item price slowdown earlier this year that led the initial overall inflation decline. The Bureau of Labor Statistics Thursday (Aug. 10) Consumer Price Index release noted prices rose only 0.2% month over month.
