St. Louis-based Centene is planning to lay off roughly 2,000 workers, roughly 3% of its workforce, as its business evolves, the St. Louis-based company said Tuesday. The company did not say how many of those will be St. Louis area employees. The company had 74,300 full-time employees, as of December, according to regulatory filings.
