As President Joe Biden extended the national eviction moratorium for a final month to July 31, California Gov. Gavin Newsom also extended the state’s moratorium beyond the initial June 30 deadline. Newsom also announced that the state of California would pay off past due rent owed over the past year for low-income residential tenants.
