The London Metal Exchange (LME) suspended trading of nickel, the key critical mineral that is needed for electric vehicle manufacturing, after prices surged to record highs. “The LME will actively plan for the reopening of the nickel market, and will announce the mechanics of this to the market as soon as possible,” the exchange said in a statement Tuesday.
