Portland Fred Meyer and the union representing store employees have been in contract negotiations for several months. As the union moves closer to a strike, Fred Meyer is seeking replacement workers and will pay them more than many current employees. Employees tell KATU News the grocery chain, owned by Kroger, has posted signs in their stores soliciting replacement workers.
