The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service predicts grocery prices will increase 2.5% in 2026. That increase is slower than the 20-year historical average of 2.6%. In 2026, prices in seven of the 15 food-at-home categories examined in the Food Price Outlook will rise faster than their 20-year historical average.
