With no reopening date in sight, Motor City Casino-Hotel plans to lay off more than 2,500 of its employees at the end of July. This comes on the heels of 621 permanent layoffs announced at Greektown Casino in Detroit. MGM Grand Detroit announced 2,600 layoffs in May.
